COVID-19 Emergency Response Funds

How to Apply for Funding

Our Next round of funding will be announced soon
Application process:  Stay tuned for information on our next round of funding.

Funding eligibility: Organizations should be 501(c)3 organizations providing services in and to Howard County, Maryland residents. Organizations that previously applied for and received funding, and those that are applying for the first time are eligible for this third round of emergency funding.

Who can apply for funds? Nonprofits that meet the basic needs of Howard County residents are eligible for operating support including those that provide child care, food, housing, and health and mental health care as well as those that support our local health care system and front line health care workers.

Targeted populations: These funds have been created to assist nonprofits that equitably provide essential services to the individuals and families most at risk of severe hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These populations include: lower-income families affected by COVID-19 related layoffs; lower-income seniors and the disabled; health care and gig economy workers and their families; residents without health insurance and/or access to sick days; residents with limited English proficiency; residents who lack affordable childcare or sick child care; communities of color, etc.

Can a family apply for resources from the fund? All funds will be allocated to local nonprofit organizations that will disperse services and supplies. A list of funded nonprofit agencies will be provided shortly. Individuals and families in need of support should check back for updates.
Howard County Funders are coordinating with peers in philanthropy, government and business to rapidly raise and deploy critical resources to nonprofits on the frontlines of responding to the urgent health and economic needs of disproportionately impacted communities in Howard County, and are committed to taking steps to address the coronavirus outbreak in ways that include deep considerations of equity. This unprecedented public health crisis is rapidly evolving and HoCoRespond will be monitoring the situation and adjusting efforts as necessary. www.hocorespond.com
